Towed-Bird Magnetics

For African markets, NRG offer a number of dedicated helicopter fixed-boom XPlorer™ magnetic and radiometric systems. For projects further afield NRG have recently introduced a highly portable towed-bird system ideal for projects using 3rd party aircraft.

Implementing smaller surveys in remote areas can involve prohibitive mobilisation and/or permitting costs which often outweigh the benefits of the survey.

In order to make these projects viable, NRG has introduced a lightweight, highly portable towed-bird configured system which is easily attached to cargo hooks of most commercial helicopters. This removes the need for expensive mobilisation, permitting and installation costs.

The system employs the latest generation NRG DAS and steering system benefitting from high speed magnetic sampling, real-time differential GPS and altimeters mounted in the bird itself. Radiometric acquisition can be added using industry leading Radiation Solutions spectrometers.
